Your airport journey

DTW to Toronto,
door to door.

A private DTW-to-Toronto transfer takes your party from its confirmed airport meeting point to the Toronto address on your reservation. It is useful when you want to continue by road after landing in Detroit, with luggage and agreed stops kept on one itinerary. It is not a shared departure, a downtown Detroit pickup or an automatic connection to Pearson.

Start of the journey
After your DTW arrivalLanding, baggage collection and the confirmed meeting happen before the cross-border drive begins.
Toronto endpoint
A street address or YYZA city hotel, a North York home and a Pearson terminal are separate destinations—not interchangeable Toronto drop-offs.
Onward commitments
Arrival deadline reviewedInclude a meeting, reception closing time or connecting flight before confirming the road itinerary.

Check the reference road journey: DTW McNamara → Toronto City Hall (opens in a new tab) ↗
This opens a sample road route, not a confirmed itinerary or a live estimate on this page. Replace Toronto City Hall with your address and McNamara with Evans if your flight uses that terminal. Allow separately for airport procedures, border inspection, planned stops and conditions; a map time is not a promised arrival.

The details that shape your ride

From DTW to your Toronto address.

A hotel near Union Station, a residence in North York and an office in Etobicoke have different final approaches. Enter the full address when requesting your estimate. For hotels or condominiums, add the entrance, loading area or concierge instructions so the last part of your trip is as clear as the airport pickup.

Arrival planning

Downtown Toronto

Give the hotel or building entrance as well as the street address, especially for a meeting or an evening arrival.

Arrival planning

Etobicoke and North York

Use your exact destination rather than downtown Toronto as a placeholder; the approach and estimate depend on it.

Arrival planning

Toronto Pearson connection

Add YYZ, the terminal and the onward flight. An airport connection needs a separate timing review.

Flight & road coordination

Choose the Toronto arrival you actually need.

Include your operating airline, flight number and a mobile number you can use after landing. We track flights, and dispatch confirms the meeting instructions for your DTW terminal. Follow the meeting and vehicle pickup instructions provided for your reservation rather than assuming a location.

City arrival, without another transfer.

For a downtown hotel, condo or office, identify the entrance where you can unload rather than only the building name. If family members are going to Etobicoke or North York before the final downtown stop, list that order in the request. The benefit of a private vehicle is one agreed door-to-door plan; extra addresses still need to be included in its timing and estimate.

A Pearson connection needs both flights.

DTW and Toronto Pearson are separate airports with a land border between them. Supply the flight arriving in Detroit and the flight leaving YYZ, plus its operating airline. Pearson uses Terminals 1 and 3; confirm the correct one from the airline directory. Do not book a tight connection by subtracting a map's driving time from the next departure.

Plan for the passenger who needs the most time.

An international arrival, delayed baggage or a child who needs a break can change when the whole party is ready to leave. Agree on a reachable contact and tell dispatch when everyone has their bags. For a longer Toronto journey, include requested comfort stops, child-seat quantities and oversized luggage before accepting the vehicle plan.

Meet your chauffeur after landing.

Your chauffeur meets you at baggage claim with a sign displaying your name, or at another meeting point agreed in your trip communications. Follow the airport and meeting instructions confirmed for your reservation. Keep your phone reachable and let dispatch know about a changed flight, delayed baggage or arrival formalities before heading to a different location.

The right vehicle.
The complete trip.

Your DTW to Toronto estimate is in U.S. dollars (USD). Compare the amount for your whole party, luggage and itinerary—not a single shared-shuttle seat or a different destination.

DTW to Toronto estimated fares.

One way, per vehicle—not per passenger. All amounts in USD.

Planning ranges for a direct DTW to Toronto transfer.

Sedan
$499–$799estimated · USD
SUV
$599–$999estimated · USD

These are planning estimates, not guaranteed fares. Exact addresses, travel date, stops and availability can put your quote outside these ranges. Multiple SUV models are available; dispatch confirms the assigned vehicle. Each return leg and any different destination needs its own estimate.

Applicable cross-border fees, taxes, fuel surcharges and airport fees are included. Exact addresses, date, vehicle, stops and availability determine your trip-specific estimate. Confirm gratuity, child-seat charges and any changes outside the agreed itinerary with dispatch.

The request is free. Final fare confirmation usually takes 1–2 hours and can take up to 24 hours. An online estimate is not a confirmed reservation. For near-term travel, call to check availability; otherwise we recommend requesting at least 24 hours ahead.

Include the stops and the return.

Add extra pickup or destination addresses using Add a stop. Tell dispatch how long each stop may take. Use the return-trip prompt later in the booking flow for the second leg; each date, address and pickup plan needs confirmation.

A return transfer and a vehicle staying with you are different arrangements. For several appointments, ask whether separate transfers or Hourly / As Directed better fits the itinerary. See how estimates and confirmation work →

Included pickup waiting time.

Scheduled address pickup
15 minutes free from the scheduled pickup time.
Domestic airport arrival
30 minutes free from the flight's landing time.
International airport arrival
60 minutes free from the flight's landing time.

We track arriving flights. Keep dispatch informed about delayed baggage or arrival formalities and confirm additional waiting charges beyond these allowances.

Changes, cancellations & flight disruption.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure for free cancellation and a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows are non-refundable.

If your flight is cancelled, we offer free rescheduling. Contact dispatch with the replacement flight details to arrange your new pickup; a changed flight should not be left as an unreported no-show.

Normal crossing included. Traveller holds are different.

The normal border crossing is included. If a traveller-related issue causes a border hold, waiting is charged at USD $2.00 per minute until the traveller is released. This is different from the normal border queue or the airport pickup allowance.

Prepare the correct documents for each passenger and clarify any travel-status questions with the relevant authorities before departure. A transport reservation cannot guarantee entry or release time.

Compare the whole journey

Is the road transfer the right continuation?

Choose the arrangement that works for your party, luggage and actual endpoint. Other providers' routes, schedules and terms should be checked directly.

Private ride or another flight

Compare the complete journey to the final Toronto address—not just flight duration. A flight option also needs its connection, baggage arrangements and onward ground transport checked. The private road option avoids a vehicle change for the agreed route but still has traffic, border and comfort-stop time.

Downtown Detroit is a different starting point

DTW's public-transport directory lists Detroit Air Xpress to downtown Detroit, not a through service to Toronto. If you choose a stopover in Detroit first, reserve the later city-to-city journey with its actual pickup address and date. Toronto–Detroit city-route guide →

Canada-bound travel

Prepare for
the land crossing.

Dispatch reviews the Canada-bound crossing against the destination, road conditions and available border information. A reported queue is only one part of the journey and does not predict an individual inspection.

Documents belong in your travel plan.

Each passenger’s requirements depend on citizenship, immigration status and age. Check the official guidance before travel, including requirements for children and any onward flight. Border authorities decide admission and inspection time.

Use official sources for your circumstances. Do not upload passport scans through the quote form. Border planning guide →

Check conditions close to departure.

Published border waits are one planning input. Road traffic, approach queues and individual inspections can add time. Dispatch reviews the crossing with the itinerary; a displayed wait does not guarantee arrival.

Crossings & published wait reports

Before you travel

DTW to Toronto: your questions.

Practical answers for this direction of travel. Contact dispatch to review details specific to your party.

Ask dispatch a question
Where do I meet the driver after landing at DTW?

Your chauffeur meets you at baggage claim with a sign displaying your name, or at another meeting point agreed in your trip communications. DTW has separate McNamara and Evans terminals. Follow the terminal meeting and vehicle pickup instructions confirmed by dispatch for your reservation.

Can you take me to Toronto Pearson for another flight?

Yes, request Pearson as the actual destination and include your onward flight and terminal. This is a long cross-border connection, so dispatch must review the available interval, baggage collection, road travel and airline deadline. A landing-to-departure gap alone is not enough to confirm feasibility.

What if my flight arrives late in Detroit?

We track the arriving flight. Send any airline change, replacement flight number or cancellation to dispatch as soon as you receive it. The revised pickup and any waiting terms need confirmation, particularly when the delay changes the travel date or your Toronto arrival plans.

Can we stop before reaching our Toronto hotel?

Include the planned stop when requesting the quote, whether it is a meal break or another passenger drop-off. Its address and expected duration affect the schedule and estimate. If you need a return journey later, add it through the booking form’s return-trip prompt or ask dispatch.
