Toronto & GTA pickup

Start at your door.

Leave from your home, hotel or business. Enter the full Toronto or GTA address, including the building entrance where needed. Add separate passenger pickups as stops.

Include everyone travelling and all luggage. Child seats, oversized bags and extra stops need to be reviewed with the vehicle—not left until departure.

Work back from your flight

Allow airport time.
Then add the journey.

DTW recommends airport arrival two hours before a domestic flight or three hours before an international flight. Your airline’s check-in and baggage deadlines still apply.

Those allowances do not include the drive from Toronto or border processing. Review pickup timing with dispatch using your flight date, number and airline. DTW check-in guidance (opens in a new tab) ↗

DTW terminal arrival

McNamara or Evans?

Confirm your operating airline and terminal before departure. Drop-off is at the confirmed terminal’s permitted departure location, subject to airport directions—not an airline gate.

Use the airport’s current directory rather than guessing from an old itinerary. If your airline changes the flight, let dispatch know. Check DTW airlines & terminals (opens in a new tab) ↗

Vehicle fit & transparent estimates

The right vehicle.
The complete trip.

Your Toronto to DTW estimate is in U.S. dollars (USD). Compare the amount for your whole party, luggage and itinerary—not a single shared-shuttle seat or a different destination.

Toronto to DTW estimated fares.

Planning ranges for a direct Toronto to DTW transfer.

Sedan
$499–$799estimated · USD
SUV
$599–$999estimated · USD

These are planning estimates, not guaranteed fares. Exact addresses, travel date, stops and availability can put your quote outside these ranges. Multiple SUV models are available; dispatch confirms the assigned vehicle. Each return leg and any different destination needs its own estimate.

Applicable cross-border fees, taxes, fuel surcharges and airport fees are included. Exact addresses, date, vehicle, stops and availability determine your trip-specific estimate. Confirm gratuity, child-seat charges and any changes outside the agreed itinerary with dispatch.

The request is free. Final fare confirmation usually takes 1–2 hours and can take up to 24 hours. An online estimate is not a confirmed reservation. For near-term travel, call to check availability; otherwise we recommend requesting at least 24 hours ahead.

Include the stops and the return.

Add extra pickup or destination addresses using Add a stop. Tell dispatch how long each stop may take. Use the return-trip prompt later in the booking flow for the second leg; each date, address and pickup plan needs confirmation.

A return transfer and a vehicle staying with you are different arrangements. For several appointments, ask whether separate transfers or Hourly / As Directed better fits the itinerary. See how estimates and confirmation work →

Included pickup waiting time.

Scheduled address pickup
15 minutes free from the scheduled pickup time.
Domestic airport arrival
30 minutes free from the flight's landing time.
International airport arrival
60 minutes free from the flight's landing time.

We track arriving flights. Keep dispatch informed about delayed baggage or arrival formalities and confirm additional waiting charges beyond these allowances.

Changes, cancellations & flight disruption.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure for free cancellation and a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows are non-refundable.

If your flight is cancelled, we offer free rescheduling. Contact dispatch with the replacement flight details to arrange your new pickup; a changed flight should not be left as an unreported no-show.

Normal crossing included. Traveller holds are different.

The normal border crossing is included. If a traveller-related issue causes a border hold, waiting is charged at USD $2.00 per minute until the traveller is released. This is different from the normal border queue or the airport pickup allowance.

Prepare the correct documents for each passenger and clarify any travel-status questions with the relevant authorities before departure. A transport reservation cannot guarantee entry or release time.

A land crossing before your flight

Prepare for the border.
And the flight beyond it.

You enter the United States by road before reaching DTW. Each passenger needs the documents for that crossing and for the onward flight. Your chauffeur cannot guarantee admission or clearance time.

Leave room for the crossing.

Dispatch reviews the route from your pickup to DTW. Windsor–Detroit crossings and the Sarnia–Port Huron corridor are possible road connections; traffic, roadworks and border operations affect the choice. A short reported wait is not a complete travel-time estimate.

Route crossings & published waits

Published border waits

General passenger lanes at crossings relevant to this route. Dispatch reviews the crossing for your itinerary—not just the shortest reported wait.

Published waits are estimates, not guaranteed clearance times.

Source feeds are cached for up to 10 minutes. Estimates older than 2 hours, or with unverified times, are not shown as current. Approach traffic and individual inspections can add time.

Check documents for every traveller.

Requirements depend on citizenship, immigration status, age and destination. Canadian permanent residence alone does not establish U.S. entry permission. Check children’s documents too, and the requirements for your flight after DTW.

Before you request

Pickup time, luggage, estimates and the return journey. For a departure that is close, call dispatch to check availability.

Ask dispatch a question
How much does a private Toronto to DTW transfer cost?

For a direct, one-way Toronto to DTW transfer, planning estimates in U.S. dollars (USD) are $499–$799 for a sedan and $599–$999 for an SUV, per vehicle—not per passenger. Applicable cross-border fees, taxes, fuel surcharges and airport fees are included. Your exact pickup address, date, stops and availability can put the quote outside these ranges. We offer multiple SUV models; dispatch confirms the assigned vehicle. Confirm gratuity, child-seat charges and any changes outside the agreed itinerary with dispatch. An online estimate is not a confirmed booking; dispatch confirms availability and the final fare.

What time should I leave Toronto for my DTW flight?

There is no single pickup time that works for every flight. Start with your airline’s required airport-arrival time, then allow for the road journey from your exact address, border processing, planned stops and a contingency buffer. DTW recommends arriving two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. Those hours are airport time—not the time available for the drive from Toronto.

Do I enter my pickup time or my flight departure time in the form?

Enter your requested pickup date and time in Toronto-local Eastern Time. It is not your flight departure time. Toronto and DTW use Eastern Time, including seasonal daylight-saving changes. Have your airline, flight number and departure date ready for trip planning, and ask dispatch to review the pickup time if you are unsure.

Is this a shared Toronto to Detroit airport shuttle?

No. This is a pre-arranged private transfer with a vehicle reserved for your party and agreed itinerary. You do not share it with unrelated passengers. Include all luggage, child-seat requests and any additional pickup addresses so dispatch can confirm a suitable vehicle; the pictured Escalade is representative, not a guaranteed vehicle assignment.

Can you collect me from a Toronto hotel, home or GTA address?

Yes. Request pickup at your Toronto home, hotel or business, or a GTA address such as Mississauga, Brampton or Vaughan. Enter the full street address and add any separate pickup as a stop. The exact location changes the route and pickup plan, so a general Toronto city label is not enough to confirm the trip.

What if my flight changes or is delayed?

We track flights for airport pickups. For your outbound trip to DTW, let dispatch know about airline or schedule changes and keep the agreed pickup unless a change is confirmed. A delayed flight does not automatically change airline check-in deadlines or make a later border crossing safe to assume.

Can I arrange DTW to Toronto for the return journey?

Yes. Add the return when the booking form asks whether you need a return trip, and provide your arriving flight details. We track arriving flights. Your chauffeur meets you at baggage claim with a sign displaying your name, or at another meeting point agreed in your trip communications. Follow the airport and meeting instructions confirmed for your reservation. Keep your phone reachable and let dispatch know about a changed flight, delayed baggage or arrival formalities before heading to a different location. Check that every passenger has the documents needed to re-enter Canada.

Can I request a last-minute Toronto to DTW ride?

We recommend requesting at least 24 hours ahead. Last-minute trips depend on vehicle availability. Final fare confirmation usually takes 1–2 hours but can take up to 24 hours, so call dispatch for a near-term departure instead of assuming an online estimate reserves a vehicle.
