Your airport journey
Windsor-to-DTW car service is a prearranged private transfer from your Windsor pickup to the terminal serving your flight at Detroit Metro Airport. Although Windsor and Detroit are neighbouring cities, this airport journey still includes U.S. entry and the drive beyond downtown Detroit. Plan the pickup around the flight, not a city-centre travel time.
Check the reference road journey: Windsor City Hall → DTW McNamara (opens in a new tab) ↗
This opens a sample road route, not a confirmed itinerary or a live estimate on this page. Replace Windsor City Hall with your address and McNamara with Evans if your flight uses that terminal. Allow separately for airport procedures, border inspection, planned stops and conditions; a map time is not a promised arrival.
The details that shape your ride
Windsor’s proximity to Detroit does not remove the need for an airport schedule. The pickup address, crossing approach and terminal all affect the plan. For a hotel, use the property name and entrance; for a home, include the full address and any access instructions. Tell us if another passenger needs a separate pickup.

Flight & road coordination
Supply the departure date, operating airline and flight number. Dispatch can then review your requested pickup against the DTW terminal and airline check-in requirements. The airport’s general guidance is separate from the time needed to leave Windsor, cross into the United States and reach that terminal.
Start with the airline's check-in and baggage deadlines, then leave room for the Windsor pickup, U.S. inspection and the airport approach. If different members of the party are leaving from a riverfront hotel and a home, include both addresses before agreeing on the pickup. Extra collection stops use the same margin you need for the flight.
A reservation labelled only University of Windsor can point to the wrong campus. Use the residence or building address: the main campus and downtown Windsor Hall are separate locations. Before an early departure, check where the group can wait together with its bags, and give the driver a contact who will be at that entrance.
For the return from DTW, use the form's return-trip prompt or send dispatch the arrival date and flight number. The return needs airport meeting instructions and Canada-bound entry planning; reversing the outbound pickup time is not enough. If a flight crosses midnight, check the calendar date shown on the airline itinerary.
Use the operating airline to confirm McNamara or Evans Terminal and its check-in and baggage deadlines. A delayed departure does not automatically move the agreed vehicle pickup.

Your Windsor to DTW estimate is in U.S. dollars (USD). Compare the amount for your whole party, luggage and itinerary—not a single shared-shuttle seat or a different destination.
For solo travellers, couples and smaller parties with a lighter luggage load.

More room for a larger party and checked luggage. Seating depends on the vehicle configuration.

For larger parties travelling together, with space for checked suitcases and carry-ons.

One large suitcase + one carry-on per passenger
A different luggage mix? Share the bag counts and sizes with dispatch for a fit check, including child seats or oversized items. Sedan and SUV layouts are alternatives, not combined loads. The Sprinter guide shows large suitcases and carry-ons together; dispatch confirms bag sizes and vehicle configuration. The pictured model is not a guaranteed assignment.
One way, per vehicle—not per passenger. All amounts in USD.
Planning ranges for a direct Windsor to DTW transfer.
These are planning estimates, not guaranteed fares. Exact addresses, travel date, stops and availability can put your quote outside these ranges. Multiple SUV models are available; dispatch confirms the assigned vehicle. Each return leg and any different destination needs its own estimate.
Applicable cross-border fees, taxes, fuel surcharges and airport fees are included. Exact addresses, date, vehicle, stops and availability determine your trip-specific estimate. Confirm gratuity, child-seat charges and any changes outside the agreed itinerary with dispatch.
The request is free. Final fare confirmation usually takes 1–2 hours and can take up to 24 hours. An online estimate is not a confirmed reservation. For near-term travel, call to check availability; otherwise we recommend requesting at least 24 hours ahead.

Add extra pickup or destination addresses using Add a stop. Tell dispatch how long each stop may take. Use the return-trip prompt later in the booking flow for the second leg; each date, address and pickup plan needs confirmation.
A return transfer and a vehicle staying with you are different arrangements. For several appointments, ask whether separate transfers or Hourly / As Directed better fits the itinerary. See how estimates and confirmation work →
We track arriving flights. Keep dispatch informed about delayed baggage or arrival formalities and confirm additional waiting charges beyond these allowances.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure for free cancellation and a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows are non-refundable.
If your flight is cancelled, we offer free rescheduling. Contact dispatch with the replacement flight details to arrange your new pickup; a changed flight should not be left as an unreported no-show.
The normal border crossing is included. If a traveller-related issue causes a border hold, waiting is charged at USD $2.00 per minute until the traveller is released. This is different from the normal border queue or the airport pickup allowance.
Prepare the correct documents for each passenger and clarify any travel-status questions with the relevant authorities before departure. A transport reservation cannot guarantee entry or release time.
Compare the whole journey
Choose the arrangement that works for your party, luggage and actual endpoint. Other providers' routes, schedules and terms should be checked directly.
A scheduled airport service can suit travellers who can use its collection point and departure time. Check current Windsor availability, luggage rules and the total for everyone travelling. A private request is for your party and agreed pickup address, so compare like-for-like rather than one seat against one vehicle. Check current shared-shuttle schedules (opens in a new tab) →
If you drive yourself, include the parking stay, the return drive and time to reach the terminal from the chosen lot. Private car service removes the need to leave your own vehicle at DTW, but neither option removes entry requirements or the need for a border margin.
U.S.-bound travel
The Windsor–Detroit crossings serve this corridor. Dispatch selects the approach for your pickup and the operating conditions; a bridge or tunnel preference can be discussed but does not guarantee a particular lane or inspection time.
Each passenger’s requirements depend on citizenship, immigration status and age. Check the official guidance before travel, including requirements for children and any onward flight. Border authorities decide admission and inspection time.

Published border waits are one planning input. Road traffic, approach queues and individual inspections can add time. Dispatch reviews the crossing with the itinerary; a displayed wait does not guarantee arrival.

Before you travel
Practical answers for this direction of travel. Contact dispatch to review details specific to your party.
Ask dispatch a questionProvide the flight number and your exact Windsor address so dispatch can review the pickup. Allow for road travel and border processing in addition to the airline’s airport-arrival deadline. Checked baggage, an international onward flight and an early departure can change the plan.
Use the terminal assigned to your operating airline and check it against your flight information. If a codeshare booking shows more than one airline, send the flight details to dispatch rather than choosing a terminal based only on the company that sold the ticket.
Add the second pickup as a stop when requesting the estimate. Include its address, passengers and luggage so dispatch can plan the order and timing. A stop can affect both the fare and the departure time, even when both addresses are within Windsor.
No. This page is for a private journey to DTW’s passenger terminal. If your destination is a downtown Detroit hotel, bus connection or venue, use the Windsor–Detroit transportation page or enter that address in the quote form so the trip is priced and planned correctly.
Share your addresses, travel date, passengers and luggage. Review estimated options, then confirm the final trip details with dispatch.
